Why don’t I know my pricing before signing up?
By joining the basket early, you’ll benefit from the collective purchasing power of the group. However, final pricing is not confirmed until September, just before the contract begins on 1st October 2025.
This model allows our energy experts to monitor the market and secure the best possible prices based on live conditions. While this requires a level of trust, our energy basket has delivered long-term price stability, with a 98% retention rate over 10 years.
Your final rates will be locked in annually on 1st October, giving you predictability for the next 12 months.
Is this part of Parish Energy?
No, this is not part of Church of England’s Parish Buying – Parish Energy. This is a completely independent energy basket operated by 2buy2.
2buy2 is a trusted energy broker, registered with the energy ombudsman, that successfully managed the Church of England’s Energy Basket for over 10 years.
With the current basket ending on 30th September 2025, we recognised the need to provide churches (of all denominations) and organisations, with a solution that provides secured non-variable rates and value, thus we are running the 2buy2 Energy Basket.
How long does the energy basket last?
The basket runs for 3 years, from 1st October 2025 to 30th September 2028. You can join at any point and benefit from competitive pricing and expert contract management throughout the term.
How does your customer service work?
Our customer service team has specialised experience working with churches over the last 12 years and understands the unique challenges faith communities face. We provide direct access to knowledgeable representatives who can handle everything from billing queries to contract negotiations. We will communicate with you every step of the way to ensure you are fully informed about the basket, keeping you updated throughout the process with clear, timely information about pricing, terms and any developments that may affect your energy supply.
What supplier options do you provide?
We work with TotalEnergies Gas & Power, who have negotiated reduced costs for our new energy basket. Our commission rates are competitive, ensuring you get excellent value while we maintain our high service standards. We are also looking at ways we can further reduce your standing charges as we know this is an area some parishes have raised concerns about.
How does your environmental commitment compare to other schemes?
Our energy basket aligns with your local church’s net zero commitments. This means every church in our basket automatically receives 100% pure green electricity (from wind power at Hornsea 2 Wind Farm), supporting your environmental goals. We also have the option of 100% green gas.
Our comprehensive environmental options include:

What if my current energy contract ends before October 2025?
No problem. We offer interim contracts to bridge any gaps between now and the basket start date. This ensures you aren’t locked into an expensive short-term deal and can smoothly transition into the basket.
How do I ensure that my organisation pays the correct amount of VAT?
Any organisation that is entitled to a reduction of VAT will be able to complete forms that will have this removed from their bill. They will not be affected by being in a basket with others who pay the full amount.
Why have other energy baskets not worked in the past?
Not all energy baskets are created equal. Common issues with other schemes include:
