Lead Procurement Consultant

Bio

I am the Lead Procurement Consultant here at 2buy2, that involves looking after the professional service categories. They are our HR and Payroll audit and financial services, as well as working on our stationary contracts – putting those all in place. I manage a team of procurement coordinators and each of them are very important to the mechanics and heartbeat of the business.

Together, we look after a lot of the admin that falls around procurement; issuing out contracts, keeping on top of our contract start/end dates and making sure any contract variations are amended properly. I’m also training up the procurement coordinators so that they can progress in their procurement careers, giving them the time to learn the basics in a secure and supportive environment so that they can understand how our procurement cycle ought to work and how a good tender/further competition should be issued for example.

What do you like about working at 2buy2?

I really like the company culture and what the company stands for. The fact that we are selective over what clients we work with and support as well as the core fundamentals of 2buy2 really gives off the feeling that we want to give back. Whether that be through enhancing social value for schools or helping charities that haven’t got deep pockets and trying their best to help them make the most of their budgets. It’s really commendable.

How are you changing the world for our clients?

What we’re trying to do is empower and inform our clients so that they can make the most of their budgets and with budgets being limited, inflation always outpacing the increase in budgets, there’s more pressure coming from new legislation; it’s a constant squeeze for our customers.

They need to buy and secure goods and services to deliver their core purpose, whether that’s a school delivering healthy meals to pupils then that’s how we want to help. It’s all about giving back as much as we can so that those organisations can fulfil their missions to be the best they can be while we help cut out the excess.

What's the most important 2buy2 value and why?

Whenever I’m giving kudos (our internal award system) it’s usually for excellence, being able to highlight and be proud to work next to someone who’s done such a wonderful job is rewarding in it’s own way. It’s great seeing people really put their heart and soul into what they do here and delivering a solid outcome for whatever it is they do. Excellence is how I’d define that.

What are your interests?

I’m passionate about the fact that you have one life and that you should live it to its fullest. You should try your best to be as good as you can be, fulfil whatever it is your ambitions and your dreams may be and enjoy it as much as you can. Some of the ways I spend my time are through paddleboarding and spinning (Also running after toddlers but that’s part of the parenting job I suppose).

Most of the challenges they do on I’m a Celebrity get Me Out of Here! I would not be able to do, especially the ones involving a lot of bugs, absolutely not!
