From the 1st April 2023, water bills, including waste water bills, are increasing by up to 20% depending on your supplier. Here’s all you need to know.
Wholesale water charges have increased across the board in England and Scotland, with suppliers having to charge more for it. This covers both measured and unmeasured wholesale charges, wastewater/sewerage charges, and trade effluent charges.
Don’t forget these are wholesale charges – to properly find the increases you’ll need to add an average water retail margin. If you haven’t switched water supplier you will be paying on default charges.
Here are the measured wholesale charges (note – if your site is measured, these changes will be applied automatically from the billing period starting 1st April 2023, or 1st July 2023 for the Portsmouth Water region):

Here are the unmeasured wholesale charges (note – if your site is unmeasured these changes will be applied automatically from the billing period starting 1st April 2023, or 1st July 2023 for the Portsmouth Water region):

The full impact of these charges will vary heavily due to the location of your organisation.
